Chancel Choir

The Trinity Chancel Choir is a tremendously gifted, talented, and friendly group of musical volunteers who assist in the leading of worship. For 10 months of the year the choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings, 6:30-8:00 pm, preparing anthems and motets suitable for the church calendar at Trinity. The music library has grown by leaps and bounds over the past couple of decades to include over 350 traditional and contemporary tunes for choir. Thanks to the Supper Club, the choir benefits from having student leadership. Worship at Trinity is also enhanced by a roster of soloists over the summer months, and during the year. Local brass musicians also join us on high, festive days in the church year.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to sing in the Chancel Choir at Trinity! The musical learning is great fun and it can be challenging as well. The ability to read music is helpful, but not a necessity. Choral singing is one of the best forms of continuing education for adults.  But, what about young adults? Yes! The interesting musical styles we pursue and fun we have is appealing to all!

Send Don a quick email if you wish to join, or just show up! (donald.fraser@islandtelecom.com)

HAND BELL CHOIR – TRINITY UNITED CHURCH

The Hand Bell choir at Trinity practices on Friday afternoons at 4:30 pm in the Chapel. Kay Linkletter volunteers her time to teach and direct the choir.
Presently we have ten members, some from the congregation, and some from other churches. Notices, seeking new members, have been placed in the church bulletin however we did not receive any response. We have one vacancy at the moment.
The Hand Bell Choir has participated in a few morning church services this past year. It was fun and exciting for the Hand Bell Choir to accompany the Chancel Choir for two anthems on December 15th, 2019. Don Fraser, Organist and Chancel Choir Director, was open to our collaboration and we look forward to more participation in 2020.
Choirs are only functional if we have choir members to sing or ring bells. Maybe some of you, reading this report, would like to join one of the choirs at Trinity, if so, contact the choir directors. New members are always welcome.
